Phyllis Virginia Seidler McIntyre Walker Valley, NY Phyllis Virginia Seidler McIntyre , 88, of Walker Valley, NY is once again breathing easily. Phyllis died on October 30, 2015 surrounded by loved ones. She was known as Madre, Mom and Phylster to her children, Jim, Lee and Kelly respectively, and WGG (World’s Greatest Grandma) to Ryan, Colin and Reece. Phyllis also embraced and showered her love on those that we chose to make family. Included in that circle are: Vicki Harris McIntyre, Bill Liedy, Joseph Cummo, Angelica Snyder, Angie Miles, Jacqueline Fisher, Brett, Jake and Payton Maher, and Bill and Rachalle Liedy. Known as Aunt Phyl to her nieces and nephews: Gloria Staten, Lani des Rosiers, Bill des Rosiers, Karin Ghent, Krista Rigalo and Keith Rigalo; she enjoyed the time spent with them. Her family is finding peace in the knowledge that Phyllis is no longer suffering and is now reunited with her husband, Mac; parents, George and Florence; sister, Florence Elaine and cherished friends: Betty Foote, Dottie Gillespie, and Barbara White. How do you sum up eightyeight years of life in a few paragraphs? Phyllis was one heck of a woman. She loved crossword puzzles, books, and a hot cup of coffee. You would find her at any given time of day surrounded by all three, perhaps accompanied by a donut or bowl of icecream. Possessing an innate curiosity and love of learning, Phyllis continued to grow and develop long after earning a master's degree. Graced with numerous gifts and talents, she believed in service with a capital S. She brought dedication, humor, warmth, brilliance, compassion and optimism to each and every endeavor. Over the course of her lifetime, Phyllis poured her heart into serving more than twenty organizations. However, there were two that were a constant throughout the years; her national sorority, Sigma, Sigma, Sigma and her place of worship, the Pine Bush United Methodist Church. Her life was one of service, whereby she enhanced the lives of each and every individual she encountered as teacher, mentor, colleague and friend. She is, and will continue to be, missed dearly. Visitation will be from 4-7 pm on Tuesday, November 3,2015 at William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham Rd Pine Bush, NY. A celebration of her life will be held at 10:30 am at the Mountain View United Methodist Church in Pine Bush, NY on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 officiated by Pastor Robert Hewitt.
